Gus has a very friendly cute look when he is not dealing with a predator.

One November 29, 2014 we were fortunate to acquire our male Akbash Livestock Guardian Dog (LGD) named Gus.  Gus was born in May of 2013 and came to us through our friends Charles and Sherri Reece from Dean Hill Kikos.

In case you are not familiar,  Akbash is one of several dog breeds that make good LGDs.  LGDs basically help us to keep the livestock from harm.  Not only will they stay with and protect our animals, they help to move our sheep away from fences and from time to time they herd the sheep to keep them together.  If you are not familiar with the Akbash breed,  they are extremely intelligent and fierce protectors.

We have fallen in love with Gus since his arrival at WSF and admire and treasure his hard work on the farm.  Gus works hard while asking for very little in return - a scratch on the head, a good meal, and plenty of room to stretch his legs and he's good to go.

Welcome Gus to White Stone Farms!

Thank you Charles and Sherri for your warmth and hospitality.  We all loved the time we had with you at Dean Hill Kikos.  Here we are some of the White Stone Farms Clan enjoying Charles and Sherri's Kikos.  We look forward to returning when it's time for our next Akbash addition.
